Seat Arosa electronic parking brake issue

My 2003 Seat Arosa with a gasoline engine is having trouble with the electronic parking brake. It's completely non-functional, and there's an error stored in the error memory. The warning light is also on in the speedometer. From what I've read, the likely cause is a defective electric motor in the brake calliper. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Arosa. The electronic brake just stopped working, and the brake control light stayed on. Did you check the brake switch or any brake sensors?

I haven't checked those specifically. Where are the brake sensors located, and is it something I can test myself?

I didn't check the brake sensor myself. I just took it to a workshop. They did some brake diagnostics and pointed to a faulty motor. If the light is on, and you have an error code, it is probably the motor. I'd suggest going to a shop.

Alright, thanks for the input. I took it to a shop, and you were spot on. They ran some brake diagnostics and confirmed it was the electric motor in the calliper. Cost me 505€, but at least it's fixed. Cheers.
