Seat Arosa emergency call system error

My 2002 Seat Arosa with a diesel engine is showing an error with the emergency call system. There's a stored error, a message on the speedometer, and the warning light is on. Mileage is 170720 km. I think it's a cable or plug issue. Has anyone else seen this?

I had something similar happen with my BMW's emergency call system. Error message kept appearing, and it was a bad connection in the telematics module. Have you checked the fuses for the car's electronics and the emergency call system? Also, have you tried a system reset?

Where was the faulty connection in your BMW exactly? And what do you mean by system reset, just disconnecting the battery?

The connection issue was inside the telematics unit itself, under the back seat. By reset, I mean a proper system reset using diagnostic equipment, not just disconnecting the battery. Disconnecting the battery might clear the error for a bit, but it won't solve the real problem. Since you think it's a bad connection, and given the symptoms, a workshop that can diagnose car electronics might be your best bet.

The workshop visit confirmed a faulty plug connection, just like I thought. Cost me 95€, but the SOS signal error is now gone. Thanks for the input.
