Seat Arosa engine misfires
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Seat Arosa with a gasoline engine experienced combustion misfires, rough running, and reduced engine power, with the check engine light illuminated. The suspected cause was a defective injection valve. After professional diagnosis, it was confirmed that the fuel injector on cylinder 3 was faulty and needed replacement, resolving the issue.

The check engine light was a constant light. I tried reading the error codes myself and it indicated a cylinder misfire, but I wasn't sure if it was a sensor issue or something more serious. Did you also have the same error code pointing to a specific cylinder?

Yes, the error code pointed to a cylinder misfire. I attempted to troubleshoot myself, but eventually had to concede defeat and take it to a workshop. Their diagnosis confirmed the fuel injector was faulty. Given your symptoms and mileage, I would recommend getting it professionally checked.

Took it to the shop as you suggested. Turns out the fuel injector on cylinder 3 was indeed toast. Replaced it and now the car runs like new again. Total cost was 515€ including diagnosis and labor. Thanks a bunch for your help with this!

Combustion misfire issues are never fun. I had a similar experience with my Arosa not too long ago. Was the check engine light flashing, or was it a constant light? Did you notice any specific conditions when the misfiring was more prevalent?
