Seat Arosa lighting problem

I am experiencing a rather perplexing issue with the car lighting in my Seat Arosa, built in 2001, with a diesel engine. The lights switch on seemingly at random, and an error is stored in the error memory. I suspect it may be a faulty light switch, perhaps due to a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

The symptoms were slightly different, but it also involved the car lighting system. Did you check the fuses related to the car lighting? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause such intermittent faults.
