Seat Arosa outside temperature sensor issues
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Seat Arosa is having problems with the outside temperature sensor, affecting the AC, spray nozzles, and heated mirrors. Possible causes include faulty wiring or a connector. It's recommended to diagnose the sensor using tools like VCDS and check the wiring. The workshop resolved the problem, confirming a corroded cable as the cause.

VCDS? So, you reckon it's definitely the outside temperature sensor then? Where's the sensor located on your old beemer? Might give me a clue where to start poking around on the Arosa.

Yeah, definitely sounds like the vehicle temperature sensor. On the BMW, it was behind the front bumper. Best bet is to get the error memory read, confirm it's the sensor and then trace the wiring. If you're not comfortable with that, a workshop will sort sensor replacement pretty quick.

Got it sorted. Workshop confirmed it was the outside temp sensor, cable was corroded. 95€ all in. Thanks for the input.

Sounds familiar. Had the exact same gremlins on my old BMW. Check the sensor diagnostics using VCDS or similar. Could be a faulty sensor or wiring. Mirror heating and AC are often linked to that sensor.
