Seat Arosa power window issue

I am experiencing an issue with the power windows on my 2002 Seat Arosa, gasoline engine. Following a vehicle battery replacement, the power windows can no longer be operated. An error is stored in the error memory relating to the window regulator. What could be the likely cause?

The symptoms you describe are consistent with a loss of window regulator initialization. Have you checked the relevant fuses for the window controls? Also, did you disconnect the door panel or window switch during the battery replacement process?

Fuses appear intact. I did not disconnect the door panel or the window switch. Is there a specific procedure for reinitializing the window regulator on a 2002 Seat Arosa?

Given that the fuses are good and no components were disconnected, it is highly probable that the window regulator requires reinitialization via diagnostic software. While some vehicles have manual procedures, the Arosa typically requires electronic intervention. I would suggest consulting a qualified workshop to perform the initialization. Car electronics can be tricky.

The issue was indeed the window regulator needing initialization. Car electronics were preventing operation after the battery replacement. The workshop performed the initialization, and the power windows are now functioning correctly. Total cost amounted to 290€.
