Seat Arosa Radio Issues
Summary of the thread
The radio in a 2003 Seat Arosa stopped working, displaying an error message and producing static noise. The initial suspicion was an antenna issue, possibly involving a faulty signal amplifier or antenna booster. After checking connections and consulting a workshop, it was confirmed that the antenna was defective. Replacing the antenna resolved the problem, restoring the radio's functionality.

When you say 'antenna ground', what exactly do you mean? And how did you check the signal strength? I'm not really sure where to start looking.

The antenna ground is basically where the antenna connects to the car's body. If it's corroded or loose, you'll get poor reception. I didn't check the signal strength myself, honestly. I just took it to a workshop after checking the connections were secure. They said the antenna itself was defective. Might be worth getting it checked out professionally if you're not sure.

Took your advice and went to a workshop. It was the antenna, just like you said. They replaced it, and the radio is working perfectly again. Cost me 255€, but at least the static noise is gone. Thanks again for your help.

Sounds like you might have an antenna problem. I had something similar with my Arosa. Is the antenna ground okay? Have you checked the signal strength?
