Interesting. So, a weak car battery can really mess with the Eco mode? Automatic restart was failing, and I thought the starter motor was giving up. Could that really be just the battery?

Yep, pretty much. Modern cars are super sensitive to voltage. Think of it like this: the start-stop system needs a strong, consistent electrical signal to function correctly. A weak battery is like a clogged artery – it just can't deliver the power the system needs. If replacing the battery doesn't fix it, then you might have a deeper issue, and maybe visit a workshop.

I appreciate the insight. I got the car battery replaced for 290€, and the start-stop is working like a charm again. Thanks!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old BMW. Check your car battery first. A weak battery can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems, especially with start-stop systems. Is the starter motor still working fine?
