Seat Arosa Tailgate Hall Sensor Fault

Sensor calibration? I haven't done that. Where is the hall sensor located, and how would I check the wiring harness? Is there a specific area that commonly gets damaged?

The hall sensor is usually integrated into the tailgate latch mechanism. For the wiring harness, pay close attention to the area where the wires flex as the tailgate opens and closes. That's a common point of failure. Since you suspect a cable or plug connection, it might be more efficient to have a workshop check the electrical connections and perform a sensor calibration using diagnostic equipment.

I took it to the workshop, and you were right. They checked the wiring and the plug for the hall sensor on the tailgate. It was a bad connection. They fixed it, cleared the error memory, and now the tailgate opens properly. Cost me 95€, which is fine. Thanks for your help.

I might be able to assist. I had a similar problem with my Seat Arosa, although electrical sensors aren't my strong suit. The power tailgate hall sensor fault sounds like it could be a faulty sensor or wiring. Have you checked the sensor calibration? Have you checked the wiring harness that connects to the tailgate? These harnesses often suffer from broken wires because the tailgate is always opening and closing.
