Seat Arosa Terminal 30 Power Issue

My 2002 Seat Arosa with a diesel engine has a Terminal 30 continuous plus interruption. Its mileage is 55935 km. It's hard to start. I think it's a heavily discharged or bad battery. I know the battery is discharged. Any ideas before I replace it?

I had a similar issue with my Arosa. It had intermittent starting, especially when it was cold. Have you checked the ignition switch? A faulty contact could interrupt the power to Terminal 30. Also, check for parasitic drains on the battery. An electrical fault could slowly discharge it when the car is off. It is worth checking the circuit breaker too.

When you had this problem, was there a significant voltage drop across the battery terminals when you tried to start it? Did you see anything strange with other electrical parts before you found the ignition switch?

Yes, the voltage drop was a lot, enough to stop it from starting. I didn't see anything strange with other parts, but it was on and off, so it was hard to figure out. A mechanic found the bad ignition switch. Since your battery is discharged, get it tested first. If that doesn't fix it, a workshop visit might be needed to check the electrical fault.

The battery was the problem. A voltage drop test showed it wouldn't hold a charge. I replaced it, and the Arosa starts. It cost 290€. Thanks for the help.
