Vehicle diagnostics... That sounds complicated. What exactly did you do to check the battery charge? Any specific steps I should follow?

In my case, the initial step involved utilizing a multimeter to assess the battery's voltage both at rest and during engine operation. Furthermore, a vehicle diagnostics scan via an OBD-II scanner revealed error codes pertaining to the battery sensor. Confirming the sensor's malfunction, I proceeded with replacement. Considering your description, a visit to a competent workshop for thorough vehicle diagnostics is advisable.

You were spot on! Vehicle diagnostics confirmed it was a faulty battery sensor. New sensor fitted, car battery is charging properly, and lights are bright again. Cost me 315€, but so worth it. Thanks a lot for your help!

I encountered a similar situation with my Volvo a few years back. Symptoms included low voltage during startup and flickering lights. Have you performed any vehicle diagnostics to ascertain the battery charge level and overall battery health? The system's inability to maintain proper battery charge can manifest in various ways.
