Seat Ateca Battery Issues

Thanks, that's helpful. I don't have a voltmeter to check the battery voltage myself. But, could a faulty voltage sensor really cause the low voltage, or is it just reporting a problem with the battery charge?

The sensor is supposed to regulate the battery charge. If it's defective, it might send incorrect signals to the car's computer, leading to undercharging or overcharging. This can definitely cause the low voltage you're experiencing. I would recommend going to a workshop for battery testing to confirm the problem. In my case, replacing the voltage sensor fixed the issue.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I took it to my local garage. They did a battery test and confirmed that the voltage sensor was faulty. They replaced it and the problem is now gone. Lights are strong and the car starts normally. Cost me 315€, but it's a relief to have it sorted.

I also have a Seat Ateca, although I'm not sure about the exact year. I experienced something similar recently. The weak battery and flickering lights suggest a possible issue with the voltage sensor, also known as a battery sensor. Have you checked the battery voltage? A healthy battery should typically read around 12.6 volts when the engine is off. Low voltage could indicate a problem with the sensor or the battery itself.
