Seat Ateca Blower Motor Problem

Okay, I'm officially losing my mind! My Seat Ateca from is giving me grief. The blower motor just quit on me. Nothing! I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. I read somewhere that a faulty AUC sensor the cabin air sensor, or air conditioning sensor, whatever you wanna call it can cause this. Could a defective cable or plug connection of the component really be the culprit? Anyone else experienced this? It is a Gasoline engine.

Summary of the thread

The blower motor in a Seat Ateca stopped working, and initial checks of the fuses showed no issues. A potential cause identified was a faulty cabin air sensor, also known as the AUC sensor, which could be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a loose and corroded connection. Ultimately, a workshop confirmed the faulty plug connection to the sensor, replaced it, and restored the blower motor's functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my older Opel Astra a while back. The blower motor suddenly stopped working, and it turned out to be a faulty air quality sensor, which I think is the same as the cabin air sensor you are talking about. Did you check the wiring and the plug connecting to the sensor?

Interesting! Yeah, I've been reading about the air quality sensor, or cabin air sensor some call it the HVAC sensor, others the BMW AUC sensor, I don't know. Where exactly did you find the faulty wiring on your Astra? Was it visibly damaged, or did you have to test it with a multimeter?

Yep, exactly the same symptoms. In my case, it wasn't visibly damaged, but the connection was loose and corroded. I tried cleaning it, but it didn't last. Honestly, unless you are really comfortable with electrical stuff, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the connector if needed. It might save you a lot of hassle in the long run.

Alright, just wanted to let you know. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! They checked the cabin air sensor or AUC sensor, as they called it and the plug connection was indeed faulty. They replaced it, and the blower is working perfectly again. Cost me 95€, which is a lot better than sweating it out all summer. Thanks a bunch for your help!
