Seat Ateca Bumper Antenna Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Seat Ateca owner experienced issues with unreliable locking and unlocking, and occasional engine start failures unless the key was in the ignition. The problem was traced to an error related to the bumper antenna. It was suggested that a defective cable or plug connection might be the cause. After a workshop inspection, a bad connection was identified and repaired, resolving the issue.

I had a quick look, but everything seems okay. Where should I focus my attention when looking at the cable and plug? Are there any specific areas that are prone to failure?

The antenna is the heart of the car's remote functions. If it's not working right, the symptoms you describe are what you'd expect. If you have already looked at the connections, I would recommend going to a workshop to avoid further damage.

You were right. The workshop checked the bumper antenna and found a bad connection. 95€ later, everything is working correctly. Thanks for the help.

That sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Ateca. The symptoms were almost identical: keyless entry acting up and the car refusing to start without the key in the ignition sometimes. The issue was related to the bumper antenna.
