Seat Ateca Central Locking Problem

My Seat Ateca is playing up. The central locking system is completely dead. I can't lock or unlock the driver's door with the remote or the button inside. The passenger door seems fine. I'm thinking it might be a faulty door contact signal, maybe a bad cable or plug connection somewhere. Has anyone had this before? It's a 2018 with a gasoline engine.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Ateca a while back. One of the vehicle doors wouldn't lock sometimes, and the car alarm would randomly go off. Have you checked the door latch itself? That's where my car sensor issue was.

Interesting. When you say 'car sensor issue', do you mean the door latch was faulty, or was it something else in the vehicle doors? Was it hard to get to?

It was the wiring harness going into the door latch. The mechanic said it's a common problem. I wouldn't try to fix it yourself unless you really know what you're doing. Best to get a workshop to take a look.

Took it to the workshop, and you were right. They found a broken wire in the wiring harness of the driver's door. 95€ later, the central locking and car alarm are working again. Thanks for the help!
