I'm having some serious issues with my 2020 Seat Ateca diesel. It has 115338 km on the clock. Lately, the automatic gearbox has been acting weird. The paddle shifters don't work at all, the gear changes are jerky, and sometimes there are some nasty grinding noises. It's also gone into emergency mode a couple of times. I scanned it, and it's throwing an error related to the transmission control unit. Could this be the definite source of the transmission problems, or am I missing something?

The error code points directly to the transmission control unit being defective. I did check the transmission fluid, and it seems to be at the correct level, although I couldn't really assess the condition myself. Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems this is beyond my limited skillset. I took it to a trusted mechanic, and they confirmed it's the transmission control unit. Looks like a costly transmission repair, about 1000€ including parts and labor, but at least I'll have it sorted soon. Hopefully, this fixes those awful grinding noises and gets me out of emergency mode.
