Seat Ateca Diesel Engine Troubles

Yeah, I scanned it, and it throws a code related to the crankshaft to camshaft reference value. So, I am suspecting the crank sensor. When they mentioned the timing being off on your Megane, was it also related to those sensors?

Ah, crankshaft to camshaft reference value, yeah, that rings a bell. In my case, the faulty sensor was messing up the engine synchronization. I'm no expert, but it sounds like you're on the right track with the crank sensor. If the code points to it, and you're experiencing those symptoms, it's very likely the culprit. I'd say get it checked by a professional to be sure. It's a pain, but better to be safe than sorry.

Just letting you know it's sorted. It was indeed the crank sensor as suspected. Cost me 340€ at the workshop, but now my Ateca runs like a dream again. Thanks a lot for your help. Really appreciate it.

Whoa, that sounds rough. I had something similar happen with my old Renault Megane, although the symptoms weren't exactly the same. Check engine light was on, and the car felt sluggish. They mentioned something about the timing being off. Did you try scanning for error codes? That's how I found out what was wrong with my Renault.
