Seat Ateca Diesel Error Vehicle Coding Suspected

I am experiencing a problem with my 2022 Seat Ateca diesel. It has 159281 km. There's an error stored in the error memory, and I'm receiving error messages in both the infotainment system and speedometer. The likely cause, according to my research, is incorrect vehicle coding.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Peugeot a while back. The malfunction indicator was on and the diagnostic scanner showed a fault code. Did you try to reset codes with engine diagnostics tools?

I have not tried to reset the codes. Could incorrect coding really be the cause, and how would I confirm that?

Yes, incorrect coding can definitely cause this. My issue was the same. I couldn't confirm it myself, so I took it to a workshop. They ran their diagnostic scanner and confirmed the control module needed recoding. Best to get it checked professionally.
