Seat Ateca Diesel Fuel System Problem

I'm experiencing fuel system issues with my 2016 Seat Ateca diesel. The engine doesn't start sometimes, stalls at idle, and runs rough. The check engine light is on, and fuel consumption seems higher. Error memory indicates a fuel pump issue. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the culprit?

Summary of the thread

The 2016 Seat Ateca diesel is experiencing fuel system issues, including starting problems, stalling at idle, rough running, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. The error memory suggests a fuel pump issue, potentially caused by a defective cable or plug connection. A similar case confirmed that these symptoms were resolved by addressing a defective fuel pump cable or plug connection, which was diagnosed and repaired at a workshop.

I had similar car performance issues with my Ateca. Check engine light was on and rough engine running. Was it pump failure?

Interesting. Did you experience stalling or higher fuel consumption too? What was the fix?

Yes, those were my symptoms too. Given the error code and symptoms, I'd strongly suspect the fuel pump. I suggest a workshop visit for a proper diagnostic.

Thanks for the input. The automotive diagnosis confirmed a defective fuel pump cable or plug connection. The auto repair cost 95€.
