Hi there, that sounds frustrating. First thought that springs to mind is the EVAP system (Evaporative Emission Control System). Has the gas cap been checked, it can cause similar symptoms ? Is it correctly sealed?

EVAP system, eh? I know it's something to do with emissions, but not much beyond that. Where exactly should I be looking for these hoses, and what am I looking for? Any tips on how to check this purge valve?

Okay, well, without getting too technical, a faulty gas cap can prevent the system from sealing properly, leading to leaks and those symptoms. Seeing as you checked the purge valve, it looks like the problem is a clogged hose. It might be a good idea to take it to a workshop.

Big thanks for the help, I appreciate it! Turns out you were spot on. I took my 2021 Seat Ateca to a local garage and they confirmed it was a clogged hose in the EVAP system. New hose fitted and cleared the check engine light, and she's running smoothly again now. Total cost was 175€, which is way better than I was expecting. Happy days!
