Seat Ateca Electrical Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Seat Ateca with a gasoline engine and approximately 50,938 km is experiencing overvoltage errors and various system failures, with a weak car battery suspected as the cause. A faulty voltage regulator, part of the alternator, could lead to high voltage and battery damage. Testing the voltage regulator requires special equipment, so professional assistance is recommended. Ultimately, replacing the car battery resolved the issues, eliminating the errors.

Where is the voltage regulator, and how hard is it to test? I don't know much about car electrics.

The voltage regulator is usually part of the alternator. You need special equipment to test it, so I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. Considering all the electrical malfunctions and error messages, it's probably best to have a professional check it to prevent further damage to the circuit protection.

It was the car battery! I replaced it, and all the errors disappeared. It set me back 290€, but at least it's sorted. Thanks for the input!

I also drive an Ateca and had similar electrical problems. I got a lot of fault codes because of a power surge, and the car battery seemed weak. Have you checked the voltage regulator? If it's faulty, it could cause high voltage and damage the car battery.
