Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is this door switch located, and is it easy to access? I'm reasonably competent with car maintenance, so I might be able to check the cable and plug connection myself before taking it to a professional.

Yes, the door switch is part of the door actuator assembly inside the door. I wouldn't recommend trying to fix it yourself, as you need to remove the door panel and potentially risk damaging other components. In my case, the garage diagnosed it quickly and replaced a corroded connector. So, a workshop visit is probably best.

Many thanks for the advice. I took it to my local garage and they confirmed it was indeed a faulty connector on the door switch. They cleaned it up and all is working again. Total cost was 95€, which I think is reasonable. Saved me a lot of hassle!

I had a similar issue with my Ateca. The keyless entry stopped working on the driver's side. Have you checked the door switch? A faulty door switch can cause the electric door system to malfunction. Could be a simple fix like a loose connection.
