Summary of the thread
The multifunction steering wheel on a 2020 Seat Ateca stopped working, and diagnostics indicated an error in the steering column control module. The issue was suspected to be a bad cable within the steering wheel. A similar problem was resolved by checking the steering controls, which revealed a defective cable connection. Replacing the wiring fixed the issue, restoring functionality.

I used an OBD scanner and got an error related to the multifunction steering in the steering column control module. Was that what you saw? Did you have to replace the whole steering column?

That error code sounds right. I didn't replace the whole steering column. The shop found a bad cable connection inside the steering wheel. I'd suggest getting the steering controls checked at a workshop.

Took the Ateca to the workshop. It was a defective cable connection within the steering wheel, just as we thought. They replaced the wiring, and it's working perfectly now. Cost me 95€, which seems fair. Thanks for the help!

I had something similar happen with my Ateca, though I don't recall the error code. The steering controls just quit. Did you check the error memory? What code did it throw?
