Seat Ateca Overheating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Seat Ateca with a gasoline engine and high mileage was experiencing overheating and a check engine light issue. The problem was suspected to be related to the active air flap, specifically a defective electromechanism. A diagnostic scan confirmed the fault, and replacing the flap motor resolved the issue.

So, if I understand correctly, you experienced similar overheating and check engine issues? Did it also point to something related to the air intake or grille shutter? What did you end up doing to fix it?

Yeah, it was definitely overheating and the check engine light was a constant annoyance. The diagnostic scan pointed to the air intake system, something about the grille shutter not opening and closing properly. I'm no mechanic, but it sounds like it could be the flap motor like you suspected. Honestly, I took it straight to the workshop. Best to get it checked properly, as overheating can cause serious damage.

Took it to the shop. Diagnostic scan confirmed the active air flap fault. They replaced the flap motor and everything seems to be running smoothly now. Cost me about 590€. Thanks for the advice!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Seat Ateca, though I can't remember what year it was. The check engine light was on, and it felt like the engine was running hotter than usual. Did you by any chance do a diagnostic scan?
