Seat Ateca Parking Aid Fault

I'm experiencing a parking aid fault with my 2023 Seat Ateca diesel. Mileage is at 72624 km. The parking assistant is completely non-functional, and the error memory stores a fault related to the system. Based on some research, a likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm expecting a repair cost around 95€. I'm assuming it's a proximity sensor or one of the parking sensors causing the obstacle detection to fail.

I had a similar issue with my Ateca. The parking sensors went haywire. Have you checked the radar sensors? Sometimes a faulty sensor can trigger the whole system to fail. Proximity sensors are essential for the parking assistant to function correctly. It could be a defective cable or a bad connection to the control module.

Thanks for the quick response. When you say radar sensors, do you mean the parking sensors in the bumper, or is there another sensor somewhere else? And when you mention the control module, is that easy to access?

Yes, the parking sensors in the bumper are what I meant. The control module is usually located behind the bumper, which makes checking the connections a bit difficult. Given the predicted cost, it does sound like a simple connection issue. I would take it to a workshop.

Took the Ateca to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a faulty connection on one of the proximity sensors. The parking aid is working again. The bill came to 95€ as predicted. Thanks for your help!
