Thank you for your response. Did you also receive an error message and did the issue resolve itself after topping up the hydraulic fluid?

No, the fluid level was normal. The error message persisted, and the symptoms remained constant. It did not resolve itself. I advise you to consult a workshop at your earliest convenience. It may be a similar issue with the steering column or the power steering itself.

I appreciate the information. It proved to be a defective plug connection in the steering system. Repair cost was 95€.

That sounds unsettling. I have a Seat Ateca as well, though I cannot recall the exact year of manufacture. I experienced similar symptoms about a year ago. The steering wheel would vibrate, and the handling felt quite spongy. Have you checked the hydraulic fluid level?
