Seat Ateca Power Window Problem

I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2019 Seat Ateca with a diesel engine has decided it hates me. Replaced the battery and now the power windows are dead. Error memory says something about "window regulator initialization unsuccessful." Seriously, what gives?

Sounds like a classic case of losing window regulator settings after a battery replacement. Did you try the window reset procedure? Usually involves holding the window controls down for a few seconds, then up for a few seconds. Worth a shot before you start tearing things apart.

Yeah, I tried the usual window reset thing – holding the button down, then up, for ages. Didn't work. Is there some special Ateca voodoo I'm missing or is it workshop time?

If the standard window reset isn't working and you've got an error code, then it's likely the window regulator needs to be re-initialized using diagnostic software. Nothing you can do yourself I'm afraid. Probably best to take it to a workshop to get it sorted.

The window regulator initialization issue is sorted. The workshop charged 290€, which is annoying, but at least the windows work again. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!
