Seat Ateca Radar Sensor Problems

I'm having some trouble with my 2019 Seat Ateca with a gasoline engine. It has 176627 km on it. The radar sensor seems to have given up the ghost. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, and there's an error stored in the error memory related to the radar sensor. Because of this radar sensor failure, various driving assistance systems are now not working, and there's a warning light glaring at me from the speedometer. I suspect the radar sensor is just dirty. I have read about radar calibration, but could a bit of dirt really cause all this mayhem?

Sounds like a radar sensor issue. I had similar problems with my Volvo a while back. Adaptive cruise was going nuts. Was the sensor perhaps obstructed by something?

Obstructed? You mean like physically blocked? I did notice a lot of bug splatter on the front lately. Could something that simple really cause all those system failures?

Yeah, things like dirt, snow, even heavy rain can mess with the radar. I'd try cleaning it first, but if that doesn't work, a trip to the workshop might be necessary.

Turns out the radar sensor was just dirty, as suspected. I gave it a thorough clean and the error is gone, driving assistance systems are back online. Total cost was 45€ for the cleaning product. Thanks for the advice!
