Fuses are okay, I checked them first. The light on the switch does come on, but the rear window stays completely fogged up. What was the fix for your Leon? Did you also have an error code stored?

Yep, same symptoms. Light on the switch, but no actual heating. I took it to a workshop, and they diagnosed a bad battery. Apparently, a weak battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins, including problems with the window demister. I'd suggest getting your battery checked out professionally before digging deeper. Modern cars are very sensitive to voltage issues.

It was the battery. The workshop confirmed it was heavily discharged and likely defective. New battery and a bill for 290€. Everything is working now. Thanks for the input!

I had a similar heating issue with my Seat Leon. The rear window heater wasn't working, and the windshield defroster was weak. Have you checked the fuses? Does the light on the switch for the rear window heater come on when you press it?
