Error codes, yeah. I forgot to mention that the engine light was on, but then it went off. You mentioned misfire, is that related to the higher fuel consumption and reduced performance I'm seeing?

A misfire will definitely impact fuel economy and performance. The ECU probably compensated at first, then threw a code, then maybe cleared it if the misfire wasn't constant. I'd guess it's a faulty injector. You could try injector cleaner, but I'd take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose and clean or replace the injectors.

Just picked up the Ateca from the shop. You were right, injectors were the problem. Replaced them and it cost 515€. It runs great now. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like injector issues. I had similar symptoms on my Ateca, rough idle, power loss, the works. Could be a dirty injector causing a misfire. Have you checked for any error codes?
