Seat Ateca Washer Fluid Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Seat Ateca is experiencing issues with the windshield washer system, where the dashboard light for low washer fluid is on despite the reservoir being full, and the system isn't spraying. The problem is likely due to a faulty fluid level sensor, as suggested by an error stored in the vehicle's memory. After checking the wiring and confirming the reservoir is full, replacing the sensor resolved the issue, restoring the washer system's functionality.

Thanks for the quick reply. So, if the reservoir is full and the wiring seems okay, is replacing the sensor the next logical step, or could there be other factors at play?

If the reservoir is genuinely full and the wiring looks solid, then yes, the sensor is the prime suspect. It's like a doctor ruling out other possibilities before focusing on a specific diagnosis. However, considering the vehicle's age and mileage, I suggest visiting a workshop to be sure. It could be a faulty pump or clogged spray jets, but the error memory points towards the fluid level sensor.

I replaced the faulty sensor. The part was 25€ and the wiper system is working again. Thanks for the help!

That sounds like a common issue. The dashboard light illuminates because the fluid level sensor is probably faulty. Is the windshield washer fluid reservoir actually full? Even if it is, a malfunctioning sensor can still trigger the warning. Check the wiring to the sensor as well; a loose connection could be the culprit. Think of it like a light switch – if the connection is bad, the light won't turn on, even if the bulb is good.
