Seat Ateca Windshield Fogging Issue

I've got a 2020 Seat Ateca, diesel engine. The windshield keeps fogging up, and the heat isn't great. I scanned it with a tool and it's showing an error related to the defrost air distribution flap. I'm thinking it might be a bad cable or plug. Anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Seat Ateca owner experienced windshield fogging and inadequate heating, with a diagnostic tool indicating an error related to the defrost air distribution flap. The issue was suspected to be due to a bad cable or plug. Suggestions included checking fuses related to the climate control system and recalibrating the climate control. Ultimately, the problem was resolved at a workshop, where a faulty connection to the flap motor was identified and repaired.

I had a similar issue with my old Volvo. The climate control was all over the place. First, check all the fuses related to the climate control system. A blown fuse can cause all sorts of weird problems with the air circulation and temperature regulation. Also, have you tried recalibrating the climate control system? Sometimes that can help reset the air distribution flaps. I remember one time the blower motor seemed to be running fine, but the air was only coming out of the floor vents. Turned out to be a stuck flap.

Recalibrating the climate control? How do I do that? And which fuses should I be looking at specifically? I'm not sure where to start.

The recalibration process varies between car models, so I am not sure of the procedure for a Seat. I'd recommend checking your owner's manual or doing a quick search online. As for the fuses, there's usually a diagram in the owner's manual, or sometimes it's printed on the fuse box cover itself. Look for anything related to the climate control or HVAC system. Honestly though, if you're not comfortable messing with it, it might be best to take it to a workshop. A faulty connection to the flap motor sounds plausible, and they can diagnose it properly.

Took it to the shop, and you were right, it was a faulty connection to the flap motor. They charged me 95€ to fix it. Thanks for the advice!
