Seat Ateca Windshield Washer Heater Problem

I am experiencing problems with my 2016 Seat Ateca with a diesel engine. The car has 167180 km on it. The windshield washer heater seems to be faulty. There is an error stored in the error memory and the spray nozzles are frozen at cold temperatures. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Could this be the problem?

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia. Washer nozzles kept freezing. Have you checked the fuse box? A blown fuse could cause a heater malfunction. The fuse box usually has a diagram indicating which fuse is for the windshield heater.

I am not familiar with the fuse box. Where can I find it and how can I check if a fuse is defective?

That's likely. The fuse box is typically located in the engine compartment or inside the car, often under the dashboard or in the glove compartment. The owner's manual shows its exact location. A defective fuse often has a broken wire inside. However, given the error memory and your suspicion, it might be more than just a fuse. I would advise visiting a workshop.

I took it to a workshop. The cable to the washer heater was defective. They replaced it for 95€. It works again now.
