Seat Cordoba brake issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Seat Cordoba owner noticed a gradual decrease in brake fluid and a spongy brake pedal with no visible leaks, suspecting worn brake components. Another individual suggested checking for leaks around the brake lines and calipers. The issue was resolved by replacing worn pads and rotors and performing a complete brake fluid replacement, restoring normal brake function.

Thanks for the swift reply. Did you experience any unusual feedback through the brake pedal? Did the issue resolve after a simple fluid top-up, or was a more comprehensive intervention required?

Fluid top-up was temporary. Eventually, I had to go to the workshop. Could be the master cylinder or something else deeper in the brake system. Better get it checked professionally.

Understood. I appreciate your feedback. It seems my initial diagnosis was in the right ballpark. Took it to a trusted mechanic. Turns out the worn pads necessitated new rotors as well. Complete brake fluid replacement was performed. Total cost: 480€. Hydraulic brakes are now operating nominally. Thanks again.

Low brake fluid and spongy brake pedal? I experienced something similar with my Cordoba. Check your brake lines for leaks, especially around the calipers. Could be a simple fix.
