Seat Cordoba Combustion Misfires

I am at my wit's end! My 2004 Seat Cordoba with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. It's got 103921 km on the clock and I'm experiencing combustion misfires, which is causing a rough engine idle. The check engine light is on, and it jerks like crazy when I accelerate. Plus, the engine power is noticeably reduced. I've been reading online, and some people are saying it could be a defective injection valve, or injector. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of issue?

Combustion misfire, eh? I had a similar problem with my Cordoba: rough idle, check engine light, the whole thing. Have you checked the ignition coils? A faulty coil can cause a cylinder misfire and make the engine run terribly.

Ignition coils, huh? Where are those located, and how can I check if they're bad? Is there some kind of test I can do before I start replacing parts?

The ignition coils sit on top of each spark plug. You can try swapping them around to see if the misfire moves to a different cylinder. If it does, that's probably your culprit. But honestly, my issue ended up being a faulty fuel injector. It's a pain, but a workshop should be able to diagnose it quickly. Good luck!

Took it to the workshop, and the issue was a defective fuel injector, just as you said. They replaced it, and the car is running smoothly again. The bill was 515€, so thanks again for your help!
