Seat Cordoba Cruise Control Failure

I'm at my wit's end! My 2002 Seat Cordoba with a diesel engine is giving me grief. The cruise control has suddenly stopped working. I scanned it, and it's throwing an error related to a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Any ideas where to start digging? It's driving me nuts!

Cruise control issues can be tricky. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Although, there was no error stored in my case. First, have you checked the fuses? A blown fuse can often be the culprit. Also, consider inspecting the speed sensor and the steering wheel controls. Is the throttle position sensor reporting correctly?

Thanks for the quick response! I did check the obvious fuses, but I didn't think about the speed sensor or the steering wheel controls. How did you go about checking the throttle position sensor on your Astra? Was it a simple multimeter job, or something more involved?

In my case, the diagnostics were inconclusive. The mechanic suspected a faulty connection, but couldn't pinpoint it without extensive testing. Ultimately, I had it professionally diagnosed. Based on your error code and my past experience, I recommend you have a workshop take a look at it. It's likely a wiring issue they can trace.

I took it to the workshop. They found a defective cable at the throttle position sensor. The cost was 95€ including diagnostics. Cruise control is working perfectly now. Thanks again for your help!
