Seat Cordoba Diesel Lights Acting Up

I have an electrical problem with my 2005 Seat Cordoba, diesel engine. The lights are acting up. Sometimes they switch on, sometimes they don't. I scanned for errors and it's throwing a fault related to the light switch. I'm thinking it might be a cable or plug issue. Any ideas?

I had a similar electrical problem with my old Renault Megane. The dashboard lights would flicker, and sometimes the headlights would cut out. It was a problem with the dimmer switch connection. Have you checked the connections to the headlight switch and dimmer switch? Any signs of corrosion or loose wires?

When you say 'dimmer switch connection,' do you mean the actual plug going into the switch, or somewhere else along the wiring?

In my case, it was the actual plug connection to the switch itself. However, it's difficult to diagnose remotely. Given that you've already seen an error code pointing to the switch, and you suspect a connection issue, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They have the tools and expertise to properly test the wiring and pinpoint the exact location of the fault. It's better to be safe than sorry when dealing with electrical problems.

I took it to the shop as you suggested. You were right – it was a faulty connection. They fixed it, and everything is working. The bill was 95€, thanks for the advice.
