Seat Cordoba Diesel Mixture Preparation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Seat Cordoba diesel is experiencing a mixture preparation error, leading to reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and occasional stalling at idle. The problem was suspected to be caused by a defective injection valve. After inspection of the throttle body and intake manifold, and ruling out the catalytic converter, a workshop confirmed that a faulty injector was indeed the cause. Replacing the defective injector resolved the issue.

When you experienced this issue, did you notice any jerking during acceleration, or did the engine stall at idle? Was the check engine light illuminated?

Yes, the check engine light was definitely on. The car was jerking when accelerating and sometimes the engine stalled. I suggest having the injectors checked by a qualified workshop. It could save you a lot of time and effort diagnosing the problem yourself.

I appreciate your input. The workshop confirmed a defective injector was causing the mixture preparation error. Replacement of the faulty injector resolved the issue at a cost of 515€.

I had a similar issue with my Seat Cordoba, although with slightly different symptoms. Did you check the oxygen sensor? A faulty oxygen sensor can cause the engine to run rough and trigger the check engine light.
