Seat Cordoba Diesel Reduced Engine Power

I have a 2006 Seat Cordoba diesel with 192880 km. I'm experiencing reduced engine power. I plugged in a scan tool and found a fault code stored in the error memory. I'm suspecting a fueling issue, but I'm not entirely sure where to start. Any ideas?

Reduced engine power and a stored error often point to sensor issues, but the fact that you mention a fault code makes me think it's something deeper. I had a similar problem with my Cordoba, though I can't recall the exact diagnostic code. Does the dashboard light illuminate?

Dashboard light does illuminate intermittently. What was the cause of your similar issue? Was it also throwing a fault code?

Yes, it was indeed throwing a diagnostic code. In my case, the previous owner had installed a cheap chip tuning solution. Think of it like adding a performance part without ensuring the engine management system can handle it. The system detected inconsistencies, hence the errors. I advise getting a professional car diagnostic performed; it might be necessary to reflash the ECU.

Took it to a local garage with a good reputation. They ran a diagnostic and confirmed a fault code related to the ECU. A previous owner had chipped the car for more power, but it wasn't done well. They reflashed the ECU, got rid of the tune, and now it runs like new. Cost me 180€ Thanks for the heads up!
