Seat Cordoba Oil Level Sensor Issue

My 2003 Seat Cordoba with a diesel engine is throwing up an oil level sensor error. Mileage is at 68736 km. I'm getting the error message in the speedometer, it's stored in the error memory, and the oil pressure warning lamp likes to make an appearance. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Could this be a straightforward sensor issue causing the oil gauge to malfunction?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Cordoba. Was the oil level actually low, or was it just the sensor going haywire?

So, you reckon it's likely just a bad connection then? Did you end up fixing it yourself, or did you take it somewhere?

In my case, the oil level was fine. The automotive oil level sensor itself was the problem. Given the symptoms and your suspicion of a bad connection, it's certainly plausible. I'd recommend having it professionally diagnosed to pinpoint the exact fault before throwing parts at it.

Alright, thanks for confirming my suspicions. I've had it checked and it was indeed a faulty connection, just as suspected. 95€ later and the warning lights are gone. Appreciate the help.
