Seat Cordoba Parking Assistant Failure

I had a similar headache with my old Volvo V70. The parking sensors went haywire. It turned out to be a dodgy control module causing all sorts of phantom detections. Have you checked the wiring harness for any corrosion or damage? That can mess with the signal from the proximity sensors.

Control module, huh? Where is that located on the Seat Cordoba? Is it something I can check myself, or am I better off just taking it to a workshop? I did read the error memory, and it says cable or plug connection defective.

Yeah, it sounds like the same gremlin I dealt with on the Volvo. Honestly, unless you're comfortable poking around with a multimeter and tracing wires, I'd say take it to a shop. Those parking sensor systems can be a real pain. The control module is usually buried somewhere in the trunk near the spare tire well. But since the error code mentions the cable, maybe they can fix it for the estimated cost.

Thanks for the input. I took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was a defective ultrasonic sensor cable. They replaced it, and now the parking aid is working again. It cost 95€, like they estimated.
