Seat Cordoba Power Window Issue

I've got a problem with my 2004 Seat Cordoba, gasoline engine. The power windows have stopped working on both sides. I scanned the error memory, and there's a fault stored related to the power windows. Based on what I've read, I suspect it's the power window switch that's gone bad. Any thoughts on this? Could it also be the regulator motor or something with the window track?

Summary of the thread

The 2004 Seat Cordoba experienced a power window failure on both sides, with an error code indicating a fault. The initial suspicion was a faulty power window switch. Given the absence of sound from the regulator motor and the error code, the switch was identified as the most probable cause. After visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that the power window switch was indeed the issue, and it was replaced to resolve the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds like a bad switch! The symptoms point to that. Is there any sound coming from the regulator motor when you try to operate the window, like a click or a hum? If not, it's even more likely the switch. Think of it like a light switch in your house – if it's broken, nothing happens even if the bulb is fine.

Good analogy! There's no sound at all from the regulator motor when I try to use the power windows. Given that the error memory stores a fault, could it still be something else, like a break in the wiring to the window motor, or is the switch the most probable culprit?

Considering there's no sound from the regulator motor and you've got an error code, plus the fact that both sides are affected, a defective power window switch is definitely the most likely cause. While a broken wire or a jammed window track are possible, the switch failing is far more common. It might be worth checking the wiring harness where it enters the door, but honestly, at this point, I'd say it's time to visit a workshop.

Took it to the shop, and you were right. It was the power window switch. Total cost was 200€, including parts and labor. Thanks for the help!
