Seat Cordoba sun blind malfunction

My 2002 Seat Cordoba with a diesel engine is giving me grief. The sun blind, you know, that interior accessory for UV protection, has completely packed it in. It's stuck in one position, doesn't retract or extend anymore. And to top it off, there's an error stored in the memory. Reckon it's the motor? Anyone else had this?

Summary of the thread

The sun blind in a 2002 Seat Cordoba is malfunctioning, stuck in one position, and not retracting or extending. A stored error in the memory suggests a possible motor issue. The conversation suggests checking the vehicle's electrical system, including fuses, but ultimately recommends professional repair. The problem was confirmed to be a defective motor, which was resolved at a garage.

I understand your concern regarding the sun blind malfunction in your Seat Cordoba. It is quite common for interior accessories, such as the sun blind, to experience issues over time. Has the vehicle's electrical system been checked recently? Perhaps a diagnostic scan could reveal further insights beyond the stored error. I hope this is helpful.

Electrical system checked? Like what exactly should I be looking for? Is there a specific fuse related to the car sunshade or something? I'm not sure where to start digging.

Indeed, a fuse could be a potential cause. However, given the error code and the sun blind's failure to operate, a defective motor is a probable diagnosis. Considering your expertise level, I would cautiously advise against attempting a repair without proper tools and knowledge. Is it worth risking further damage? A qualified workshop would be best equipped to handle this issue effectively.

Cheers for the advice! I took it to a garage. It was the sun blind motor, just like I thought. Cost me 330€ to get it sorted. Ouch, but at least the window visor works again. Now I can drive without getting blinded!
