Seat Cordoba Tailgate Hall Sensor Fault

Has anyone had tailgate issues on a Seat Cordoba 2005 gasoline model? I'm getting a 'tailgate hall sensor fault' in the error memory. The automatic tailgate doesn't open completely. I think it's a bad cable or plug, but I want to be sure before I start taking things apart.

I had a similar issue with my Cordoba. Did you check the wiring harness that runs from the car body to the tailgate? The wires can get damaged from opening and closing, causing sensor faults. Is the rest of the vehicle sensor system working?

Thanks for the quick reply. When you had this issue, did the error message always appear, or did it come and go? And was the tailgate function completely broken, or only partly?

For me, the error was intermittent at first, but became more frequent. The tailgate motor would sometimes work, sometimes not. Given the symptoms and the error code, a bad connection is likely. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop.

Took it to the workshop. It was a faulty connection in the tailgate wiring, like I thought. They fixed it, cleared the error, and the automatic tailgate works again. Total cost was 95€. Thanks for the help!
