Seat Cordoba Washer Fluid Issue

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2001 Seat Cordoba diesel, which has 138339 km on the clock. The washer fluid low warning light keeps popping up on the dashboard, and the windshield washer system has stopped working altogether! I even scanned the error memory and found an error related to the washer system. I am losing my mind here. Could it just be that the wiper water level is low, or is it more likely something wrong with the spray jets or the washer motor?

Summary of the thread

The issue with the 2001 Seat Cordoba was a persistent washer fluid low warning light and a non-functional windshield washer system. The problem was initially suspected to be due to low washer fluid, a faulty washer motor, or blocked spray jets. Upon checking, it was confirmed that the washer fluid level was indeed low, and refilling it resolved the issue, clearing the dashboard warning light and restoring the system's functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Oh, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Cordoba a while back. Does the dashboard light stay on constantly? Have you checked the actual washer fluid level? Sometimes the sensor is just a bit oversensitive.

Yeah, the dashboard light stays on all the time, even after turning the car off and on again. I assumed the level was okay since I had filled it up a few weeks ago, but now that you mention it, I haven't actually checked it. Could it really be that simple?

Yep, it could very well be that simple! These cars are known for that. It's worth checking before you start tearing things apart. If it's not the fluid level, then I'd suspect the washer motor itself or maybe a blockage in the lines to the spray jets. Honestly though, my money is on the fluid. Did you see any fluid leaking when you filled it up a few weeks ago? Otherwise, save yourself the headache and just visit a workshop.

I just wanted to say I fixed it! It was exactly as you said: low washer fluid. I bought some wiper fluid at the gas station for 25€, filled it up, and now the system is working perfectly. The dashboard light is gone too. Thanks a lot for your help!
