Seat Exeo Audio System Failure

I'm experiencing a complete audio system failure in my 2009 Seat Exeo, diesel engine. The audio system does not work at all; there's no audio output from any source. I suspect the likely cause is a defective bass speaker, but I'm not sure. Before it went completely silent, there was an increasing amount of sound distortion. Also, I've had a recurring Bluetooth issue. Is it worth getting it repaired?

Radio silence, huh? I had a similar issue with my Exeo. Have you noticed any sound distortion before it went completely silent? Does the Bluetooth connect OK but just no audio? What about USB audio?

Yes, before the radio silence, there was some sound distortion, particularly at higher volumes. I thought it was just old car speakers. The Bluetooth issue is intermittent; sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't, but even when it does, there's no audio output. I haven't tried USB audio, to be honest.

Sounds very familiar. The sound distortion followed by complete radio silence and the intermittent Bluetooth issue points to a speaker problem, most likely the bass one as you suspected. I'd say get it checked out by a professional. Could be a simple fix, but best to be sure.

Just wanted to close the loop here. I followed your advice and took the car to a workshop. Turns out you were right about the car speakers! It was indeed the bass speaker that was defective, causing the radio silence. Repair cost was 280€. Thanks again for your help!
