Seat Exeo Audio System Failure

I'm at my wit's end with my 2011 Seat Exeo gasoline engine. The audio system has completely stopped working. There's absolutely no sound coming from any of the car speakers. I've scanned for errors, and it's showing a fault related to the display. I'm suspecting a defective display, but I'm not sure. Has anyone experienced anything similar? I'm also getting some static noise. I'm worried it could be faulty wiring or even a Bluetooth problem with the head unit.

Summary of the thread

The audio system in a 2011 Seat Exeo has stopped working, with no sound from the speakers and a fault related to the display. Possible causes include a defective display, faulty wiring, or a Bluetooth issue with the head unit. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by replacing the head unit. The suggested solution is to have a professional diagnosis, which confirmed the display unit as the problem, leading to a repair quote.

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. The whole audio system went kaput. No sound, just static noise from the car speakers. Did you check the fuses? That's the first thing the mechanic told me to look at.

Thanks for the tip! I did check the fuses, all seem fine. The weird thing is, the system powers on, but there's no sound, just a faint static noise. The error memory has a fault stored related to the display. Was your Renault's problem also related to the display or head unit?

Yep, mine ended up being the head unit itself. Apparently, a common issue with that model. The mechanic said something about internal failure and that it needed a complete replacement. Given your error code points to the display, it's likely the culprit. Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis before throwing money at it. Could save you some hassle in the long run.

The workshop confirmed it's the display unit. They quoted 725€ for the repair. It's a bit steep, but I need the audio for my daily commute. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it helped me prepare for the diagnosis.
