Interesting. Did you also experience any grinding noises when it shifted gears? And if you remember, what were the exact error codes you were seeing?

Yes, the grinding noise sounds very familiar. I recall a slight grinding noise too, especially during the 2nd to 3rd gear shift. As for the error codes, I don't remember the exact codes. However, the workshop confirmed it was indeed a torque converter issue with the auto transmission. Based on your description, it's very likely you're dealing with the same problem. I'd suggest getting it checked by a specialist to be certain. Transmission repair can be tricky.

Thanks for the input. It pretty much confirmed what I suspected after getting the error codes read. Bit the bullet and got the automatic transmission repaired. Turns out it was a converter fault just as suspected. Cost me 2120€ but at least it's running smoothly again.

I own a Seat Exeo as well and had similar symptoms a while back. The check engine light illuminated, and the transmission indicator light also came on. I noticed some unclean shifts, almost like the gearbox was slipping. If you have access to diagnostic tools, I would suggest checking for any stored error codes. In my case, it pointed towards a potential torque converter issue.
