Seat Exeo Battery Drain Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine was experiencing battery drain issues, causing weak and flickering lights, error messages on the speedometer, and difficulty starting. The problem was suspected to be a faulty battery sensor. After confirming the battery terminals were clean and tight, the battery sensor was identified as the likely cause. Replacing the sensor resolved the issue, eliminating the error messages and stabilizing the lights.

Terminals are clean and tight. I cleaned them just to be sure. The vehicle battery was replaced 2 years ago. Where exactly is the battery sensor located?

The battery sensor is usually attached to the negative battery terminal or integrated into the battery cable. Given the symptoms and the fact it's a relatively new battery, a defective sensor is the likely culprit. Replacing it should solve the issue. I would take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the insight. Turns out it was indeed the battery sensor. Replaced it, and the error is gone. Lights are steady, and it starts like a champ. Cost me 315€ including labor.

Sounds like a faulty battery sensor. Have you checked the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections? Is the vehicle battery original?
