Seat Exeo Diesel Fuel Flap Problem

My 2010 Seat Exeo diesel is playing up. The fuel flap release isn't working! I'm getting an error stored, and the fuel filler flap just won't budge. Seems like some other random functions are also unavailable when this happens. I'm thinking it might be a defective linkage, anyone experienced this before?

I had a similar drama with my Seat Leon – same issue with the fuel filler. Error code, wouldn't open, the whole shebang. Suspect you've checked the obvious, like the release button itself? Have you tried using any cable release?

Yeah, I fiddled with the release button, no joy. Where exactly was the problem on your Leon? Was it definitely the lock actuator, or something else in the system? And if it was the actuator, was it an electrical fault or a mechanical issue with the linkage?

Spot on, sounds identical. For me it was 100% the lock actuator. I didn't dig too deep myself to be honest. I let the workshop take a look. It's probably an electrical fault, but could also be the linkage as you mentioned. Best get it checked before you're stranded at the fuel pump.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on! They confirmed it was the lock actuator and linkage. 210€ later, the fuel flap is working perfectly again. Thanks a bunch for the help!
